I don't know if it has happened to you, but it has to me. Parking my heavy BMW 1150GS motorcycle, fully loaded for a long trip, and the sidestand digs into the grass and the heavy bike topples over. Sounds familiar? Heavy motorcycles have this problem (though lighter ones as well, but to a lesser extent). Grass, dirt, loose ground and even hot asphalt will do the trick. Try uprighting a 600 pound motorcycle.... You can get coasters that are placed below the sidestand, and they do the trick. Only problem, again from experience, you can ride away forgetting about the coaster. Or you can get a coaster with a string that attaches itself to your handlebar. Problem there is positioning the coaster below the kickstand. It's difficult in the beginning until your get the hang of it. Or you can get the safeTkick . SafeTkick is like a coaster, but in this case it is rectangular and has a telescopic rod attached to it. When you are getting ready to park your motorcycle, kick out the side stand, drop the safeTkick, and use the rod to position the "coaster" below your sidestand (kickstand). Since there's a long rod attached to it, with reflective bright colors, you can't forget it when riding away. But the reflective colors also serve to make your motorcycle a bit more noticeable for cars who might back into your bike. Sounds like a useful idea. It's small enough to take with you.
Cost: US$19.95 Availability: Now You can actually buy it for a special price at this moment: US$15.95 Click here to access the safeTkick site (you can buy it there).
