Maybe California doesn't have everything right when it comes to motorcycle safety, but this they have, and I like it. Without any extra costs (remember the financial state of California), they are using message boards alongside the road to remind cars drivers to keep a look out for motorcycles. The sign was displayed for a week (after that, it's usefulness greatly reduces). This is an example that many countries can easily follow since it doesn't cost anything extra to do. For example here in France, all motorways have illuminated signs all over the place. They are normally use to warn about traffic conditions further up, but when there's no traffic, they either show the time or some publicity message from the company that manages the motorway. So why not put a message like this (but in French...). Personally, I prefer to see the road signs say this: ... but then it will increase the number of accidents.. Good onya California.
