Mike Wood in West Salem, Ohio, USA wanted people to stop driving their cars, motorcycle and even bicycles fast through his streets. Speed signs don't do that much to slow people down. So he came up with a novel idea.
He created life-size cardboard cutouts of children, and placed them really close to the road. Drivers, when they see a child close to the road, immediately slow down, since they don't want to stand the chance of the kids suddenly jumping onto the road. The scheme worked!
Now, many associations want one, so Mike Wood is selling them; US$ 60 per child!!
