Not much to do about motorcycles this article, except that motorcycles were very needed to get there. The Armada 2008 drew 11 million spectators, and on the Monday, when all the tall sail ships left Rouen for the ocean, there were some 2-3 million people alongside the Seine river. The river between Rouen and the sea is 120 kilometers long, so do your math.... at times they were 10 people deep. The traffic jams were enormous, and the Gendarmes looked the other way when the motorcycles were riding on the wrong side of the roads, passing the solid white lines. One Gendarme I asked if we should take the bridge road or the short cut, said to take the bridge road, but "watch out since there's a speed radar placed at the end of the road".... only in France. Here are some of the 900 photos. To see 110 high quality photos, click here . Not only were there sail ships, but also war ships from Japan, France, Germany and even Finland: To see 110 high quality photos, click here .
