Sorry Europe. Apparently, the European Commission will be looking into limiting all motorcycles to 100hp. Starting this summer, the EC are going to debate the issue. They are looking at the French model, were any motorcycle needs to be limited to 100hp. Despite the fact that it has never been proven, either scientifically, or with statistics, that the number of accidents increase because of more horsepower, they do intend to limit it throughout Europe. It's crazy if you think about it. Horsepower means nothing on a motorcycle. Torque is a better measure of power. And even a less than 100 hp motorcycle is capable of incredible speeds and acceleration. Or is this all a ploy so that the authorities need not invest every year in more powerful police motorcycles? The EC also want to make mandatory ABS brakes on all new motorcycle models..... this way starting motorcycle riders will not be able to afford a new motorcycle. Maybe that's the whole idea. Make it expensive to buy a motorcycle, this way there will be none. So, instead of France stopping the crazy law, it looks like the rest of you will need to suffer.
