It's difficult to feel what speed you're going, and with the fast acceleration a motorcycle can undergo, before you know it, you ride over the speed limit. But when you ride twice the speed limit, there is no way you can say "Oh, I didn't know I was riding that fast". But in Australia, one man is trying for that defense (either that or an insanity plea). A 41 year old biker was arrested in Maroochydore, Australia for riding at double the speed limit of 90 kph. He was clocked at 189 kph. But this didn't happen once, it happened twice. The first time, he was stopped and given a speeding ticket. When he left the Police officers, he left very fast, speeding again. The cops used their radio, and shortly thereafter, the Police picked him up riding 50 kph above the 110 kph speed limit. This time he was arrested, and his motorcycle impounded. When asked by a reporter, he simply stated "I didn't even realize I was going that quick, I've only owned the bike for a very short period". Well, I guess he'll never own it for longer....
