My take is that they should be strung up on the highest tree. And I don't mean the kids, but their parents. The brave men and women of the London Ambulance Service don't have it easy. They have a special response group that ride motorcycles, enabling them to get to a scene much quicker than normal ambulances. The paramedics often risk their lives and limbs in order to help people. And what do these people do in return. They steal their helmets! These helmets worth £600 are tailor-made for the Ambulance Service, containing the gear needed to stay in touch with the paramedic. Without these special motorcycle helmets, the motorcycle is grounded, as is the paramedic. In the past month, 4 helmets were already stolen, leaving the staff unable to respond to emergency calls. The thieves are usually kids and teenagers, having a bit of fun. Fun that can cost lives. Obviously, because these paramedics are under extreme time constraints, they can't stow away their helmets or lock them, so they leave them on the motorcycle. They do not have any alternative. What a world we live in...
