The Netherlands: Electric Motorcycles Require Full License 16 February 2010   File under  Electrical   Author: Mike Werner   Location: Travelling With the advent of electric motorcycles and scooters, a gray area has been entered. What kind of driving license is required. Most of the electric motorcycle aren't that fast (more like a 125 cc), but have a fast acceleration. Laws in most countries only cover gas-guzzling engines, not electric ones. That has been rectified in The Netherlands. Starting on the 10th of February 2010, riding an electric motorcycle or scooter will require a full motorcycle license. Strange... what if the electric motorcycle has the equivalence of a 50 cc moped?
