Sometimes you can't be bothered, or sometimes you just can't ride your motorcycle across France. Trailering your motorcycle is one way of bring your bike with you, but it's not always possible. The alternative is to put your motorcycle on a truck. But that involves a lot of logistics, and often the costs are astronomical since trucks are expensive. Like in many countries, there's now a motorcycle trucking service that will bring your truck, and belongings, to anywhere in France. MOTObyCAT is a website that not only promotes the service, but also give you on-line prices from anywhere in France. The website offers door-to-door prices, but also if you drop-off, and pick-up, your motorcycle at one of their hubs. For example, sending a BMW R1200GS (with helmet, jacket, bags) from Calais to Nice (North to South) will cost you: Door-to-Door: €460.91 At drop-off or pick-up point: €345.80 At both drop-off and pick-up point: €230.68 Here are their drop-off and pick-up points: The price does not include insurance, which is extra. This is a good alternative if there's no train service available. Click here to read more about it (in French).
