I had a laughing fit when I saw this article appear on my desktop. In the United Arab Emirates, specifically the mega rich city of Dubai  , the government employs a VIP Police escort unit consisting of 6 women!
The six ladies, riding big displacement Yamaha motorcycles and suited up with all sorts of guns, are bodyguards for visiting heads of state, though they mostly escort the wives of these top officials.
I'm not laughing at the fact that it's girls in the role of bodyguards, I'm laughing at the location. The Middle East, as we all know, is notoriously anti-female, even in a liberal United Arab Emirates. The male Arab government isn't taking them serious.
I'd say that this is more in-line with Colonel Gaddafi's all female bodyguards; good for his own image.
