There are loads of people out there who have been thinking about riding a motorcycle or scooter, but never take the plunge. They don't know if they'll like it, if riding a two wheeler is for them. Often what happens, is that they ask a friend or acquaintance who rides one, if they can go on a ride with them. And often with disastrous consequences. In the UK, a group, called Get On , takes care of that problem in a professional manner. They offer free motorcycle rides, lasting one hour, to anyone who wants one. Get On was created by UK's leading manufacturers, dealers and other organizations. From the list of centers where you can "book" a free ride, you can see that they are all motorcycle schools. That's not a bad thing, since the person taking you on the ride, should know their stuff, and will follow a plan. For the training center, it's good business, since if the person enjoys the ride, they are more likely to book lessons with the school. They'll lend you the helmet and other safety gear, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy. The Get On website also offers advice for returning motorcycle riders, and a comprehensive database of motorcycles. Not a bad initiative. Click here to access Get On (nice site).
