Finally, one country that is getting it right in-between the throngs of countries that just don't get it (like France). The UK will see starting 23 January 2012 motorcycles in the bus lanes in London. After much deliberations and studies, and an 18 month trial period, the City of London has deemed it a good idea to allow PTWPowered Two Wheel - motorcyles, scooters, mopeds in bus lanes. The new law will cut CO2 emissions and shorten traffic time for bikers. The 18 month trial period has not seen an increase in accidents, especially between motorcycles and cyclists. It looks like Christmas has arrived early in London. Maybe one day the mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoe , will wake up and see that doing the same will make his city more liveable. He's always pointing out when other cities copy his ideas, but it's rare that he uses ideas from others.
