The North Yorkshire Police in the UK have anew weapon against mostly motorcycle riders, but also fast moving cars. A van, riding around North Yorkshire , has been converted into a mobile radar van, with high-tech radars capable of measuring speeds off up to 1000 meters (1 kilometer) away, and at a 360° perimeter.Although it's a 6 month test, the van will mostly be used for motorcycles. Of the 36 people who died on the roads in the area, 20 were bikers, with 24% of the deaths were attributed to speeding. But luckily, it's not only bikes that are targeted. The high quality cameras can also detect mobile phone usage, and if seat belts are not on. The police radar van is highly visible, so if you get caught speeding, get your eyes checked. To me, it looks more like a World War II Battle Cruiser ship...or a pirate ship.
