It's getting to the point you don't know who to trust, and what to do anymore. A 19 year old woman driving in Novato, California was pulled over by what seemed a motorcycle cop. Red flashing light, amplified voice.. it all seemed ligit. Then when the "officer" came to the woman, she noticed no uniform or badge. She told the "officer" that her mother was following her, and was just approaching, so the guy left. Here's the stinger... the local Police are telling residents that if stopped by a cop, keep your doors locked and windows down until the person confirms that he/she is a cop. This could be an interesting scenario: cop standing there, saying "open you window and give me your papers!". "No, show me you id" say you. Cop draws a gun, points it at you and says "open your window! NOW!". Anyway, you get my point.... I've always had this thing, that if you get pulled over by a plain car, even if it puts up a flashing light on the roof, how do you know that the person is really a cop, and not trying to rob or jack your motorcycle?
