 It's amazing if you consider the previous article (Ads: Utah - Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over )...Utah is going to ban the police from setting up roadblocks to search for motorists who have been drinking and driving their cars or motorcycles. The proposed law changes would make roadblocks authorized only if the authorities obtain a search warrant. "I believe that doing away with checkpoints and putting those resources into saturation patrols better upholds our constitutional protections against unreasonable searches and is more effective law enforcement," wrote state Representative David Butterfield (R-Logan) on the introduction of his bill earlier this month.
Currently, Alaska, Idaho, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming prohibit the use of roadblocks. It looks like in that case, if the law passes, they'll need to advertise a lot more..
