The French Minister of Transportation does a reasonable good job with its safety commercials for motorcycle riders here in France. Every few months they bring out a thought-provoking PSAA public service announcement (PSA) or public service ad is a type of advertisement featured on television, radio, print or other media. Whereas the objective of a standard advertisement is to market a product, a PSA is intended to benefit the public interest, by raising awareness of an issue, affecting public attitudes, and potentially stimulating action. . But not thought-provoking enough for Mehdiator. Mehdiator is a fellow who has a bee up his bonnet about safety, and that the government is not doing enough. He makes his own PSAs, one which got a very wide audience about the crash barriers (link ). Now he is on the war path about the latest government ad - link . In the video below, all in French, there's a small monologue, in which he ridicules the official PSA. He starts by asking the viewer if he has been criticizing the latest safety ads (because the government has criticized him). He mentions how you can see the biker walk to a Kawasaki Z750 and turn the ignition key... while the Kawa has an electronic starter. He then goes on and scores a major point; the government has for the last year been telling us bikers that we need hi-viz clothing but in the ad they say themselves that the majority of motorcycle accidents happen in daylight, in the countryside.... where hi-viz clothing is of no use. After 42 seconds of monologue, he shows his own PSA. It's an ad about wearing proper clothing on a motorcycle. He finishes his well done and funny video with "Motorcycles ... It's like SEX ... cover yourself!", followed by "It's even better in leather".
