Harley-Davidson logo
Kind of cool TV ad for Harley-Davidson, made specially for the Christmas season. It's the usual Harley m.o., departing from the traditional images, and reinforcing the bad boy image, but still.. it's cool.

Don't show this to your kids! Censored Smiley

What a great commercial... totally Harley. Will make the little ones pee their pants. Can't wait to see it again.

Someone on Madison Avenue gets it!

    Getting Ripped Off by garages!

    Getting ripped of by garages!

    Hi there,

Can anyone advise me? I have a Triumph Thunderbird Sport which I brought out of storage recently and the coolant warning light was on. I took it to get MOT-ed and they said they topped up the coolant and all was good and if it came on again it was a faulty light. Of course the light came on again when I hit the motorway. I took it to get serviced at £120 inc a new air filter at another garage and it came thru no prob but the f**kers didn't check the problem with the light and said it must be the sensor that needed replacing. Now by this point i'm getting weary and over the next two days the bike got worse and worse. I took it back to the garage who said it was cutting out and riding groggily and the light coming on cos I had the choke on but I needed it on for a while in the mornings to stop the bike cutting out. (Once I got out of traffic the choke got turned off.) So he says ride it for a day with no choke atall and if it's no better to bring it back in.

So I head to work and nearly kill myself as the bike keeps cutting out everytime the revs drop and is driving like a coughing tractor. Was in a dangerous state so I was forced to go to ANOTHER garage! They have a look and £250 later tell me they put in a new air box and when I say 'but I just had a new air filter put in' they claim the one that was in there wasn't new! They tell me they have test driven the bike and it's all fine and no warning light is coming on. so I go on a quick test drive, all is good bar it being a little groggy. So I have to pay them (after getting them down to £200 cash) and drive off and guess what.... as soon as the bike heats up, the f**king warning light comes back on and the bike is driving like shit again, cutting out etc etc. So I take it back and the garage calls me earlier to tell me they've gone in deep and realized I have a major problem with the head which is letting in water or something and last time they changed/fixed a head on a Thunderbird Sport it cost £1,700!!!!!! They say the fan wasn't going on correctly and the sensor needs to be replaced. Can anyone advise, I feel like I am being royally ripped off here and am not mechanically inclined. It seems to me tho that surely this major problem should have been flagged up during the MOT/service or third garage check and as a result of it not being checked it may well have led to the bike being majorly damaged? Or is a major 'head' problem not part of a general service.... is it possible that a bike can be serviced and passed thru without this major fault having to be checked. The last garage is saying that they test drove it and it was fine and no light was coming on so in their mind it was fine but surely they should have tested it when the bike was hot?!!!

I look forward to anyone's thoughts on this matter as I am due back to the garage anyday now. Much appreciated,

    Sean

This advertisement is both immoral and unethical. Maybe, not the most popular comment, after reading the others, however, it is my own. I would not expect anyone else to agree with it, unless they understand comments as being something more than popular.
