The 15 year old French motorcycle manufacturer, Voxan, which went belly up last year, and placed in receivership, and since then sold piece-by-piece last month has, at the very least, saved its honor and name. French car maker Venturi has announced that it has purchased Voxan, or at least what remained of it. Last month, after no white knight in shining armor came to its rescue, Voxan was sold piecemeal to the highest bidder, collecting some €550,000 for its stock, office equipment and several motorcycles, including the concept motorcycle designed by Philippe Starck (place your mouse over the words "concept motorcycle" above to see it, sold for €15,000). Now, Venturi, a company that was also saved in 2001 from disappearing, and who has a common designer (common between Voxan and Venturi), has taken over the Voxan brand. According to their press release, they plan to produce electric motorcycles for the brand, not conventional ones. Again, according to their press release, expect to see the first models in 3 years time. Venturi themselves are designing some interesting cars, like the electric one below. So they have experience in developing electric vehicles, so let's hope that this time the Voxan brand sticks. Click here to read the full press release from Venturi
