2nd week of November sees worlds biggest motorcycle exhibition open its doors in Milan , Italy. Called EICMA , it's THE motorcycle exhibition event of the year. Every year the show gets bigger, this year is no exception. Last year, I already lost several kilos lugging cameras and gear over kilometers of booths and halls, so this year is going to be worse. And yes, yours truly will be there... This year should also see a large number of new motorcycles. Many manufacturers have waited until November to announce their new bikes. The European manufacturers traditionally use EICMA to launch new motorcycles, BMW BMW have already announced that they are going to present several new motorcycles, many of them based on their new F800 series? Are we finally going to see the much anticipated F800GS? What other surprises will BMW have for us. So far, BMW have been quite good at hiding their new bikes. Ducati Ducati have been over the news over the last few months with design mockups and what-ifs for Ducati new Monster. It should come as no surprise that they'll show the new Monster at EICMA. But have they got any other new motorcycles up their sleeves. Triumph Triumph already announced that they going to show their new Rocket III Tourer at Milan, and I somehow doubt that they have anything new under the horizon. Moto Guzzi I think Guzzi are still basking in the glory of their new Griso, and have had no time to produce anything new. Aprilia Are Aprilia going to be introducing more automatic motorcycles at the show? The introduction last year of the Mana was very well received, and the pressure from Ducati is on, so who knows. Derbi I expect to see new models from Derbi. They introduced some concepts last year, so expect something. KTM KTM announced new models in the Paris Mondial show, including their Concept Stunt motorcycle, so I'd say the only thing left to introduce is the long awaited LC8. Voxan French Voxan already showed their new stuff in Paris, the new GTV 1200... The EICMA exhibition opens its doors to the public on 8 November until 11 November. Doors open at 10:00. Entrance will set you back €18, however on Friday it's ladies day, since women don't need to pay for the entrance. The address is; FIERA MILANO SS. 33 del Sempione 28 20017 Rho (MI) (which is slightly outside of Milan, on the M1 Red metro line) For a map click on this icon --> (you can switch to satellite view to see the actual fair grounds).
