The USA is such a big country, it's enormous, with a wide variety of scenery and things to see. Even an American born-and-bred motorcycle rider will not have seen everything in their own country, but will not have heard of certain parts of the country, or know every worthy road trip there is to take. So imagine how it is for us foreigners.... Enter the Motorcycle Touring Guide website. Motorcycle Touring Guide lists all most of the states in the USA (but not all of them), so after selecting a state, you are presented with a map and a list of motorcycle rides. There is a short summary of what you can expect to see and sometimes they'll show the ride length (expressed in miles and kilometers for us poor Europeans) and the time it will take. Clicking on their link will give your an Acrobat PDF file that you can read off-line and print out. The document is lengthy, with loads of information about the trip. However, the documents are not motorcycle specials, they are generic, ie, for cars, motorcycles, etc. Don't expect to find the biker hangouts. If you want to make your own itinerary you'll also find several bits of information on visit-worthy places in the state in question. They also list the helmet laws for each state, plus other interesting information. The site is interesting both for Americans and foreigners. Click here to access the site .
