I've written a lot about wireless intercoms and communication facilities, but I often forget that most bikers still use wired headsets. Often they're wired to walkie-talkies, radios, intercoms or communication hubs. So, for those of you who are still wired to your motorcycle, here's a company that produces wired headsets (and other gadgets). USA based Tork , produces several different headsets that are to be used with motorcycle helmets. The headsets are available with microphones or without. The headsets are made depending on the helmet type; Sport, Cruiser, Touring or their top-of-the-range Tork Max. The microphones are adapted according to the helmet used. Prices range from US$ 49.99 to whatever-they-charge for the Tork Max.
If you want to use a headset to listen to music or your GPS, you'll only need the headset. Three versions exist; X2, X3 and X Pro. All provide stereo music. All models feature a volume control. Prices range from US$ 49.99 to US$ 79.99. Additionally, Tork produce a mini amplifier, called Tork Booster which is designed to amplify and distribute a stereo line level audio signal to to headphones or earphones. Price: US$ 39.99. In the communication department, Tork also produce a small intercom called Tork Ridemate. With this device, you can connect a bike-to-bike walkie-talkie, cell phone and/or music devices. Price: US$ 299.99 (including 2 stereo headsets). Click here to access their website
