UMass Amherst student Brycen Spencer has come up with a life saving idea for us motorcycle riders. He's equipping a motorcycle helmet with a bunch of electronics. The built-in electronics will sense if the rider has had an accident. If there was an impact, and the alarm has not been disabled within 60 seconds, the system will call an emergency phone number, sending GPS information to the medical/rescue staff. The idea is called WIG, which stands for Wireless Impact Guardian. This way, if you're out riding alone and crash, your helmet may just save your life twice, once from the impact, and then to call 911. Spencer has patented the idea, and has already received some money to start up a company. I guess we'll be seeing more of his invention over the years. For more information click here .
