Wirelessly Listening To Music - Jabra A120s

WARNING: I have not tested this product, so I do not know if this works !

Jabra A120s
We've had quite some articles on Bluetooth and motorcycles; Bluetooth enabled helmets {link} and 3rd party Bluetooth manufacturers for helmets {link}. Most of them are based on receiving either mobile phone and/or intercom facilities using Bluetooth.

What would be nice is to be able to listen to music while riding, and preferably not be wired to your motorcycle. You could do this already with some of the products, but it would involve using a PDA or GPS. When I saw this product, I thought... hmmmmm... why not?

The Jabra 120s Open link in a new window is an adaptor that you connect using a standard 3.5 mm plug to any audio device, like a MP3 player or CD player. It then transmits the sound wirelessly via Bluetooth to a Bluetootht headset.

Now here's the part that needs to be checked out:- what if you use a standard motorcycle Bluetooth headset, like those from Cardo Scala Rider, CellularLine Interphone / BlueAnt / Supertooth, HelloBiker, or others and pair it with the Jabra.

In principle, that should work, giving you music (mono or stereo, depending on the headset capabilities) on your headset. The motorcycle Bluetooth headsets use a headset Bluetooth profile, which is what the Jabra uses.

The unit will transmit music for some 10 hours, and fully recharge in 2.5 hours. It uses Bluetooth version 1.2 A2DP.

I have contacted Jabra Open link in a new window, and will let you know.

Price: US$ 54.95
