You know those seats you often see in taxis around the world? The ones with mostly wooden beads, that "massage" the taxi driver's back while he (or she) speeds around the city, eagerly looking for innocent pedestrians to knock over. Well, I've got some great news for you. You can now get the taxi beaded seat (move your mouse over the words to see a picture) incorporated in your motorcycle jacket. Honest! I kid you not. Under the name IXS , the German motorcycle clothing and accessories brand have released a full length jacket called X-Jacket Yin & Yang. It's a normal motorcycle jacket; rain proof, good airflow ventilation inside and lots of pockets (but there's no mention of armor). But the big difference for this jacket is what you will find in the back. Where often you'll find some Kevlar to protect your back from a nasty highside, there's a bunch of beads. The beads have an acupressure function, in other words, like the cab driver, they gently press into your back, massaging the vital areas. According to the company blurb, this system should make you more "awake" and "alert" on your motorcycle, relieving tiredness while riding long distances. Apart from not believing that this actually works, what happens if you do go off your motorcycle? If you fall straight on your back, those beads are not going to be a welcome addition to your body. Cost is around €450.
I think prefer a nice Thai massage at the end of a long motorcycle trip.... Click here more info on the IXS Yin & Yang jacket .
