We've seen visors being tested {link} that enable you to change their tint at the touch of a button, and eventually they'll be mass produced. Uvex Open link in a new window has beaten them all to the punch. Uvex have launched the F1 Magic Goggle, a goggle that changes its tint by simply pressing a button.

Uvex Magic F1 Goggles

Although meant for skiing, you should be able to use these goggles on an enduro or off-road helmet.

When travelling on the road, visors that change tint are great, but when riding off-road, with stark differences between open fields and forests, lots of light and darkness, the Uvex F1 Magic can be heaven-sent; just magic.

The lens in the goggle is made out of the latest technology liquid crystal. In fact, there are two liquid crystal lenses, and one, at the press of a button, gets charged, and changes tint, making it dark.

The change over is immediate, no waiting for it to change.

It doesn't come cheap, but for US$210 or US$230, depending on the type, your off-roading will become much more pleasant. The goggles will be available during September 2007.
