France: Scorpa Then Voxan Motorcycles Go Chapter 11 8 September 2009   Author: Mike Werner   Location: The Hague, The Netherlands France doesn't have many motorcycle manufacturers, in fact they really only have three, and two of them are not doing too well. Recently trial/off-road motorcycle manufacturer Scorpa was taken over by competitor Sherco (whose owner was one of the cofounders of Scorpa ) after filing for bankruptcy protection. Last week was the turn of France's main motorcycle manufacturer Voxan . They filed for bankruptcy protection, and now have 6 months to try to restructure their company. Both companies had already been doing not so good over the last few years, so it's of little surprise. In the interest of motorcycling in general, let's hope they manage to get out of the woods, and rebuild the brand. blog comments powered by Disqus
