Aprilia SVX 4.5
Only 2 months after launching their new 45.V2 engine (link), the Italian manufacturer Aprilia put their new engine to work on the new SXV 4.5 chassis in the Belgium Supermoto Grand Prix race last weekend.

This was the first time both the new motorcycle and engine competed in public. The racer, Alex De Angelis, performed remarkably well, considering that it was the very first race for bike & engine (and rider). On top of that, there was a major downpour that weekend.

In the first series, De Angelis gained 6 positions, in the 2nd series he fell and ended 25th. At the end, Alex finished in the 23rd position. The race was done so that the Aprilia technicians got get the most technical and telemetry data.(The race was won by Eddie Seel).

Aprilia announced that they were very pleased with the reliability of their new engine. De Angelis stated that the torque was very good and made the riding easier then expected.
