 Until recently not many people had heard of the Belgian motorcycle GPS manufacturer, Tripy  . We had done an article on them some time ago {link}, but recently, Tripy have been hammering away on the road, making their product a mainstream item, especially in the world of motorcycle rally sports. Tripy have signed a partnership with ASO, the Dakar rally organizers, to supply their GPS equipment to all motorcycle participants until 2012, and they also supply 95% of all Dark Dog Moto Tour participants with their GPS.
Their new GPS, the Tripy II, has a large number of changes over the previous model. The LCD screen has been made to be read with no problems in direct sunlight, it can contain up to 800,000 POIPoint Of Interest. The coordinates/location of specific interest on a GPS map. , 500 preloaded road books containing up to 250,000 kilometers of routes. Remember, Tripy is NOT like the GPSs you can buy at your local supermarket (like TomTom or Garmin, et al), but it's a real "road book" GPS. It doesn't give you a nice map, 3D drawings and symbols to the closest McDonalds. It shows you when to turn left, or right, after the bridge, just like a road book will. In fact, the Tripy GPS will print out an old fashion road book ... just in case you break the GPS. The Tripy II is rain proof (IPX7), and it's on board battery will last 15 hours of continuous operation. This specialized equipment don't come cheap (which is probably why you don't buy it at your local supermarket).
